The Newcastle International Paceway has been the setting for some sizzling performances and race results over the years with many horses producing some of their best times when stepping out onto this spacious track. We start 10 runners off a one line start. We were the only track in Australia starting 10 horses off the front for many years. We believe this provides all horses less interference at the start.

We conduct approx 80 race meetings per year, making us one of the busiest clubs in Australia. Our meetings in 2011/2012 will be mixture of Thursday afternoons, Friday nights and some Saturday night's, plus a Thursday night and a huge meeting on Melbourne Cup day. The Newcastle Mile, run in November, and the Newcastle Cup, run in December, are our two biggest meetings of the year.

The paceway is located in the sporting heart of Newcastle at the International Sports Centre, we are only 6 kilometres from the CBD, a 10 minute walk from Broadmeadow railway station, and on major bus routes. Newcastle is approximately 160 kilometres north of Sydney and is renowned for its fabulous beaches and surrounding attractions such as Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, The Watagans, Barrington Tops, Golf courses and the famous Hunter Valley vineyards.
