The Newcastle Harness Racing Club member’s horse Livin It Lovin It made a winning debut for members a few weeks ago and has backed that performance up with some solid efforts against smart oppsition from awkward barrier draws. CEO Ross Gigg said” The club member’s horse was an initiative to increase our club memberships and bring some new people into the sport. We had a good increase in memberships last financial year and we hope Livin It Lovin It will have the same impact this yearr”. Both club horses were purchased through Global Bloodstock. If you are interested in getting into the sport of harness racing give us a call and we'll put you in touch with Global Bloodstock. Pacers are much cheaper to train than gallopers and there are some good prize money races on offer. Get some mates together to form a syndicate.

Newcastle / Maitland District Mini Trot Association Coup

Newcastle / Maitland Club have been granted the honour to conduct the 2011 NSW Mini Trot Championship on April 23rd & 24th 2011. The venue is Maitland showground. The announcement was made at the gala Dinner Presentation Night held at East Maitland Bowling Club on Sunday 13th June starting. In a coup the special guest at the presentation night was the trainer, driver of 4 time Inter Dominion champion Blacks a Fake, Natalie Rasmussen. Natalie generously agreed to give up her time to attend the function. Her story is a fascinating one and she enthralled the audience with her achievements. She was very happy to sign autographs and have her photo taken with the kids and adults. In another coup the host for the night was HRNSW CEO Sam Nati who also kindly agreed to attend the function.
