Tips Saturday night 3/1/09 Race 1. C2/4 2550 mtrs Inter city Pace heat 1 No 8 FINN: Has won 4 of its last 6 runs in good company at Menangle and H/P. Last start 3rd behind a smart one at H/p 28th Nov. The only runner N Day has in this series so its got to be hard to beat. No 4 MY MACKADOO: Has won its last 2 in fine fashion here in easier class. Had to win last week to qualify for the series. This is tougher but it looked good last week. Big danger. No 10 HIGHLANDER CARL: Went to a spell in July with back to back wins. Came back on 15th November with a solid 4th then galloped out and raced roughly to finish 7th on 22nd Nov then was on its best behaviour to score a strong win here on 29th Nov. Likes the distance and will be running home strongly (other chances No 2, 3, 5, 9) RACE 2 3yo 2030 mtrs No 11 ARMAGEDON FLAME: Went to a spell in August as a winner and has returned to the track a winner with 2 fins wins here on 18th & 27th December. Looks above average and wide draw no worry, looks close to a good thing. No 8 EASTON CULLEN: Another consistent performer and at H/P. Won’t be far away No 9 REPUBLIC AUSTRALIA: Very consistent and will figure in the finish. (place chances 1, 3,7) RACE 3 C2/4 2550 Inter city pace heat 2 No 10 AVA LIVING LEGACY: Has been a model of consistency since arriving from NZ with 5 x 2nds, 2 x 3rds and 2 wins here and at H/P. Scored a well deserved win here last week. The distance suits and despite wide draw it will make its presence felt. No 8 FLIGHTPATH: Has been costly to punters of late but the bigger track should suit. Chance. No 5 SPEED CHIEF: Has some ability and will lead and be in front for a long way. Value. (other chances 3, 4, 7, 11) RACE 4. C2/4 2550 mtrs Inter city pace heat 3 No 1 STAMINATOR: Promising local 4 year old. Has gone back to back wins at Menangle and here since resuming from a spell. Should be at peak fitness and has the 1 gate. Should fight it out No 8 BEACH FIGHTER: Another smart 4 year old. Had no luck first up at Menangle on 11th December when raced roughly and broke, then had every chance at Menangle on 23rd December and finished short half head 2nd. Has been costly of late but can bounce back here and should fight it out. No 6: MILEAMINUTE: Has some ability and has a good record here. It is first up since August and the distance may test, pay to play in exotics and will improve with race fitness. (Other chances No 2, 7,) RACE 5 C5/8 2030 mtrs No 6 SECOND DOLLAR: Solid effort here last week when first up from a let up to finish 3rd. Trial form has been good and if she gets one cheap quarter she will be hard to hold out. No 5 DASH OF CLASS: Has been up for a long time but seems to thrive on racing and trialing. Better draw than last week puts it in the race, chance. No 7 REGAL SIGN: Was racing Ok at H/P even though form did not read that good. Returned to racing here with a 6th a win and a last start 6th beaten 4.9 mtrs. Should get a nice run behind the speed and only needs a crack at them in the run home to be a big chance. (place chances 1, 8,9, 10,11) RACE 6. C2/:4 2550mtrs Inter City Pace heat 4 No 3 SNAZZY SHANNON: Has been sparingly raced with good results winning 3 on the trot in September, October 7 17th December. Last start 5th when caught wide from second line draw at Bathurst on 26th December. Will appreciate the bigger track and B Hewitt only has 1 runner in the series so he will give it every hope. No 4 JACCKA SANDY: Had good form going to a spell in September with 3 wins and a 2nd. Recent trial form OK and should be ready for a bold first up effort. No 5 MICHELLES MEMORIES. Hasn’t raced since May when it had good form with a couple of 2nds and a win. No trial form to report but the trainer has a good strike rate here and he wouldn’t throw it in this series unless it was working well. Keep safe. . (Place chances No 7,10) RACE 7 C2/4 2550 mtrs Inter city Pace heat 5 No 4 BLACK STATURE: Form is hard to fault winning 4 on the trot here and Menangle. Close up 4th at Menangle last run beaten just over 2 metres on 16th December. Go close here. No 6 HOLME OF CARMER: Local racing in top form with 3 wins here and a 5th at Menangle last 4 runs. Big chance. No 1 SPIRIT OF GLORY: Another in good form with a close 2nd at Penrith on 11th December then a nice win her eon 20th December. Should get the run of the race from the 1 gate and should figure prominently. (Other chances No 2, 10) RACE 8 C1 1609 mtrs No 3 OUR SIR ANGUS: Has been in good form with back to back wins here followed by a close 3rd here last week. Chance to atone. No 4 CUBAN ROCKET: 4 year old only faced the starter 3 times and shown ability culminating in a very nice win here last week in maiden class. Looks to have more improvement in it and should fight it out. No 9 BIG BAD CAT: Has some ability. Scored a good win here on 18th December when first up form a good spell then checked at next start and finished 7th beaten 14 metres. Pay to include in exotics and back it when it draws in closer. (place chances No 8,) RACE 9 C0 2030 mtrs No 1 BITUMENBANDIT: Form is consistent and coming off a half head 2nd at last run here on 18th December. Has the speed to hold the lead and will prove hard to run down. . NO 3 OPPENHEINNER: Was most consistent with a string of minor placings going to a let up in October. Might race well fresh but place chances best. No 7 KEILOR TRADER: Honest 3 year old, has been racing well against the older horse of late and might be better placed against own age but still a chance in this. {other chances Nos 6,8} BEST BET: Race 2 No 11 ARMAGEDON FLAME NEXT BEST: Race 7 No 4 BLACK STATURE EACHWAY/VALUE: Race 5 No 7 REGAL SIGN
